5 Minutes with our January curator, The Style Lane

Want to find out some more about January's box curator before the box lands on your doorstep? Here we ask Penny a few questions to give you a look into the beauty world, through the eyes of a business woman beauty junkie.

Hi Penny, tell us a bit about yourself and your upcoming Roccabox edit?

I’m the editor and founder of TheStyleLane.com. As a fellow beauty addict and product obsessive, it’s a total pleasure to collaborate with Roccabox on this month’s edit - the very first of 2018! It’s the perfect time for fresh starts, new beginnings and exciting discoveries, so what better way to kick off January than with The Glow Getter Roccabox?
The first month of the year can be so many things. A little tough to get used to at first, especially after the festive frivolities, but equally invigorating and oh-so refreshing to get back on track, motivated and ready to make it your best yet. Of course, a new skincare or make-up treat helps along the way.

What's your New Year’s beauty resolution?

To stop picking away at nail varnish. Once I notice a tiny chip, the whole lot comes off. Remembering to apply eye cream is number two on the list, to keep that delicate skin happy.

What are you most looking forward to in 2018?

Exciting business opportunities and sunshine escapes! Every year, after Christmas is over, I’m ready and waiting for summer to arrive.

What's your ultimate beauty lust have?

Always skincare. Serums, masks and intense moisturisers are my weakness. Oh, and ridiculously priced candles. I’m a sucker for stylish packaging.

Your worst beauty nightmare to date?

It has to be a self-tan related faux pas. Too many orange palms witnessed over the years to count. I also seriously regret over-plucking my brows as a teenager. They never grow back as full.

Your first ever beauty purchase?

Pretty sure it was a selection of Barry M glitter pots.

Your best beauty tip?

I’m obsessed with overnight treatments. Anything to multitask! Sudocrem on blemishes is an old favourite. I swear by coconut oil to hydrate and make your hair grow - Sister & Co. is just the best. Margaret Dabbs’ foot treatment is another miracle worker, working its magic while you catch some beauty sleep. Plus, always give your skin a good massage after cleansing, to boost circulation and help the facial muscles to relax. I really notice a difference in the morning.
