Get The Gloss: The Hero Edit Reveals
We are SO excited about what’s inside our Get The Gloss Hero Edit that we’re struggling not to reveal every single product in one breath. Believe us when we say this: they aren’t hero products, they’re superheroes.
Every day we’ll give you a sneaky peek of a different product, so keep your eyes peeled! You know what they say, good things come to those who wait, and believe us, this box is worth the wait…
Day 1: Here it is, our first reveal, and we know this uber-luxe skin serum won’t disappoint…
What is it?
Votary, Super Seed Serum, 50ml, £75
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
Do we really need to explain ourselves? This beauty-editor fave has it all: a plant-oil formula that delivers; impressive green credentials; chic packaging with serious shelf appeal; and real industry status. It melts beautifully and instantly in to the skin to hydrate, soothe, plump up and brighten.
How do we use ours?
We like to gently press this luxurious serum into our freshly cleansed skin morning and night before oil or cream.
Day 2: Dried out, chapped, over-sanitised hands becoming the bane of your life? We thought so. You need one (well, two) of these right now…
What is it?
Nails Inc, Thirsty Hands Super Hydrating Hand Mask, £8
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
This rich moisturising treatment deeply conditions, rejuvenates and restores hands back to their former supple glory – and let’s face it, we could all do with that right now.
How do we use ours?
Simply pop on the ‘gloves’ and then do nothing for twenty minutes, while they work their moisturising magic. Rather cleverly you can actually still scroll through your Insta feed as you wait for them to work, but we prefer to use it as an excuse to do absolutely nothing!
Day 3: It’s not so easy to shine brightly in a box full of star products, but trust us, this dry skin saviour can hold its own…
What is it?
Tropic, Rainforest Dew Hydration Serum, 30ml, £42
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
This lovely light serum – packed with hyaluronic acid and natural plant peptides – injects extra moisture into parched skin, leaving it plumped up, toned and dewy for hours.
How do we use ours?
Daily, layered underneath our daytime moisturiser, for an extra hydration boost on dehydrated, dry, thirsty skin.
Day 4: We know our Roccababes love a good beauty tool, and as the authority on all things beauty, we knew Get The Gloss would be able to recommend one that truly works. This really will transform the way you cleanse forever…
What is it?
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
Because it’s simply genius. It’s a dual-sided cleansing pad that lifts and removes make-up, grime, SPF, you name it, with just the addition of water. One side gently exfoliates and removes impurities from the surface of the skin, while the other side then cleanses deeper into your pores. A thoughtful and sustainable alternative to chemical cleanser, and a useful addition to any bathroom cabinet.
How do we use ours?
This is our fallback when we run out of cleanser, want to limit our product use or are travelling (because we WILL travel again someday!). It’s a guaranteed deep cleanse that is far more effective, and yet just as easy to use as (whisper it) face wipes.
Day 5:
When we said our Get The Gloss Hero Edit was a bumper box of lust-haves, we weren’t exaggerating. Say hello to your new fave Sunday night treat….
What is it?
Crabtree & Evelyn, Mixed Berry Oil Booster, £32
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
Oil boosters give skincare a little more guts - and this blend of acai and goji berries is exactly what our routine needs right now. Mixing a few drops in to your serum or moisturiser will upgrade your routine and inject your skin with a luminous glow.
How do we use ours?
On days when our complexions need a boost of hydration we mix a couple of drops with our usual day cream. When our skin feels extra parched, we use it on bare skin as a standalone treatment, or as a pre-treatment before our night cream.
Day 6:
We promised our Get The Gloss Hero Edit would only contain the very best the industry has to offer, and this exfoliating skin treatment, impresses for all the right reasons…
What is it?
D’Alchemy, Natural Microdermabrasion Peel, £29
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
Because it’s a highly effective exfoliator, that’s a great product to use prior to serums and active creams, to allow the skin to absorb their ingredients better. It powerfully removes impurities, leaving skin smoother, softer and thoroughly cleansed.
How do we use ours?
As a really effective once-a-week addition to our skincare regime, to get rid of dead skin cells and to make sure our other products can work to the best of their ability.
Day 7:
We could all do with a little sunshine right now, but while we can’t promise you that, we can give you the next best thing - a flawless glowing tan…
What is it?
Dr Hauschka, Translucent Bronzing Tint, 2.5ml £4
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
This genius bronzer can be mixed in with your usual moisturiser, allowing you to create different shades – so some days you might want to just perk up your skin with a subtle pinch of colour, other days you may go for full-on faux glow. It also gently blurs the appearance of imperfections, so is a great alternative to wearing base when you want your skin to feel bare, but still look healthy and radiant.
How do we use ours?
We mix a little with our daytime moisturiser when skin is looking sallow, dull or decidedly pale.
Day 8: Love discovering skincare that is jam-packed with natural ingredients? Then you’re going to go crazy for this luxurious face cream…
What is it?
Manuka Doctor Cashmere Touch Day Cream, £30
Why did it make the Get The Gloss cut?
As its name suggests, this cream melts into skin, leaving it instantly silkier, smoother and softer. After using for a few weeks we can definitely see an improvement in fine lines and elasticity.
How do we use ours?
On a morning on freshly cleansed skin, prior to SPF.
