In The Beauty Cupboard With Sassy In The City
Ladies, meet Lauren Maher, the blogger behind Sassy In The City and the brains behind your May Roccabox. As a self-proclaimed beauty-box obsessive, we felt pretty damn confident giving her free reign over your next box and she didn’t disappoint. We had asked her the questions we all want to know the answer to, here's what she had to say:
Current lust-have?
I'm thrilled that in this months box we've included a product from Monu. The brand are fab so I can't wait to give my skin a much needed drink using 'The Hydrating Mask' after spending two weeks along the coast in Cornwall. They're an all natural, luxury brand who are against animal testing.
Current must-have?
A good razor has always been an integral part of my bathroom wash-bag. When it comes to high performance blades and reliable results, Wilkinson Sword are for me my go-to. It's included in the box and I know you'll be just as impressed as I am with the ease and comfort of the shave.
Beauty muse?
Mila Kunis has such great skin and always looks impeccable even when she's off duty. I
love her dark and mysterious eyes which are can be dressed up with smokey shadows and plenty of lashes or paired back with just a flick of liner for an easy to achieve day time look. Her hair is to die for and lets take a moment of appreciation for her insane body!
First ever make-up item:
Vaseline! Although can that be considered a make-up item? I would use it to tame my brows, give my lids a gloss, give lashes some definition, my cheekbones a highlight and my lips a little balm. Talk about a multi use product. Although now my makeup bag is a lot more sophisticated, I'll always remember my shiny teenage face.
Skin-deep beauty tip:
A good swim. Since finding out that I'm expecting this September, I've started to swim a lot more. Any exercise that increases my stamina and gets me moving always gives my skin that extra bit radiance and keeps my blood pumping. You don't get the same effect sitting in front of the TV with a pack of biscuits.
I’ll never buy in to…
Negative space eyeliner. It's the eyeliner flick that isn't on the lash-line but half way up your eyelid. Very 60's, a bit OTT and a bit too playful for me.
I’m most excited by…
Pony tails and minimal makeup. Whilst I've been known to wear heavy makeup and long wavy hair, the prospect of a laid back, natural face and and hair piled into a band is a trend I'm loving. Just make sure you've got a good mascara and eyebrow pencil to pull it off.
